Apple just released a new 1GB iPod Nano model to go along with the 2GB and 4GB editions. The new model is available in Black and White just like the 2/4GB Models. The 1GB Nano (~ 240 songs) is priced at only $150, compared to the $200 2GB Nano and the $250 4GB Nano. Since the 1GB iPod Nano is equivalent to the 1GB iPod Shuffle, Apple has reduced the prices on both models of the Shuffle as well. The 512MB Shuffle will cost $69 and the 1GB model will cost only $99. Apple has decided to do this to make their products more affordable because of cheaper prices being offered by their competitors. A new redesigned iPod Shuffle had been expected, but Apple has yet to announce anything regarding it. The new 1GB model will immediately be available from the Online Apple Store as well as Apple’s Retail Stores. (Note: the body of the new iPod Nano is the same as the previous two models, the only change is amount of storage it has.)
“The iPod is the world’s most popular digital music player with over 40 million sold, & now even more music lovers can experience the unrivaled combination of iPod & iTunes,” VP Marketing Greg Joswiak
