Although Tablet PCs have been around for ages, the Apple iPad takes credit for revolutionizing the tablet market. Nearly six months after its debut earlier this year, a noteworthy competitor is still missing. Fortunately, that’s all about to change: Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab runs on Android, has two cameras, support for video chat, and offers other features the iPad lacks. In addition, most reports indicate that a subsidized 3G iteration will launch on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon this year giving it a boost over the AT&T-only iPad 3G. However, with Apple’s upcoming iOS 4.1 update, larger App Store, and established market share, Samsung faces stiff competition.

I have a Galaxy S and was waiting for an Android Tablet, but 7″ screen is not enough, they don’t even make 7″ Netbooks anymore..

Galaxy S is damn nice, just hoping that Tab will live up to the ‘Galaxy’ title. And regarding screen size, I loved the iPad screen size despite the hardware and software limitations. Hard to tell whether 7 inches is too small.

Galaxy tab beat the Apple Ipad straight and forward… the problem is that , its that the Galaxy id overpriced
Prices should be known shortly. Hopefully it won’t be a bummer. The subsidized models on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon are coming first. Samsung says a WiFi only model is coming too, but haven’t specified when.
Office tools> Samsung YES; iPad NO? Are you sure? I think, that iPad has a office tools, called iWork for iPad, that means Pages, Numbers and Keynote. And it’s probably better than androffice.
Actualy there is even more office tools, also some free, but not so good as iWork.
I only gave a vote to categories that come with the unit by default. ThinkFree Office ships with the Tab. Numbers, Pages, and Keynote each cost $10 for total of $30.
Same reason I gave the Tab a vote for Navigation. It comes with Google Navigator, the iPad only has Maps. iPad is absolutely capable, but 3rd party apps to make that happen cost extra.
Sheesh guys? Navigator is a google title, why aren’t keynote, numbers and pages next to the tab with big red X’s

My Slow, crappy, feature lacking big iPhone that doesn’t make calls has the 10.1 android port of flash…and it’s just as slow as Adobe made it….other than that….hardware wise, tab gets my vote….the only bad thing is it’s running froyo….and even google says it’s gong to suck. so …when both devices are turned off and not running any applications….Tab wins hands down.
Form factor, tab has advantage.
Oh tell your info graphic person that the vol, home, and power buttons on the iPad are used in key combos during preboot, recovery, and DFU modes, and flash messaging option….I still gotta chuckle at why the number of hardware buttons is a feature, but if you call it out…you should probably get it right.
Again…the compass is misleading. The compass is a UI for the interface. If you call out accelerometer, gyroscope, then magnetometer would be accurate.
Oh…the tab doesn’t have a a CEO that is a ninja….

Notion Ink Adam looks the best Android tablet on paper. Let us see when it gets officially released if it can live up to its techspectations :)
