Tried of the boring old Windows XP theme? Want something new? You can now make any Windows XP Home or Pro machine look like the Windows Media Center Edition’s glossy theme. (called “Royale”) Microsoft has created a small shell file extension. The download and installation files are only about 2mb. The theme may take up slightly more memory than the standard XP theme, but is probably un-noticeable.
To install, download the .exe provided below and when it asks you where to install the files make sure “C:WINDOWS” is selected. If you choose “C:WINDOWS” the files will automatically be placed in the “Resources” Folder in you computer. To activate the theme just right-click on you desktop -> Properties -> Appearance -> Windows and Buttons -> select [Media Center Style]. Hit apply and wait a momment it to fully load.

i downloaded this theme from somewhere else but the rar file i downloaded was empty so i stumbled across this site and bang a few secs and i now have a sexy WINXP ty to Skatter and ty to the developer

This is awesome!!! My friend has the new comp. that already had this so I went on a bunch of sites trying to find it for my XP each site it said download and it didn’t work. And then when I downloaded this I’m like wow just another lie. I looked everywhere for the theme. Then I’m like duh the display settings. Sweet theme though.

i saw it on my cousines computer and tryed to down load it but i found it hard at last i found it hear very very easy thanks once again for the wonderful support.

Wow, i was getting tired of the old Blue skin and thank god I found this one.
I was wondering, is there a Vista theme for XP? Because I really don’t want to install StarDock into my computer, not after last time, so if someone could point me in the right direction, that would be nice.

Well i find it crap! It looks just the same as the normal XP look.
Or im to used to my theme to see the difference. Only the black one is different because of the color…..

Wow! I’ve been looking for this since forever!! I just came from a forum that complained about XP’s 3 default color themes for 8 full pages and the complaining spanned over a 2 year period! all that was suggested over there were $$programs. Thanks so much for sharing this!!! You’re the best!

Make you sure you followed the directions as stated. If you have installed it properly, all you need to do is go to the theme settings to change the skin to the new style. Also was the standard XP theme working properly on your machine before you installed this one?
Well…i’m not able to change my desktop backround right now,but othere than that,it’s fine.
Now when i try installing it,it says this:
C:/Documents and Setting/Zahid/Desktop/RoyaleThemeForXP.exe is not a valid Win32 application
…why is this?
