Looking for a new phone? Well the brand new Motorola KRZR K1m is now available through Verizon Wireless. After being frowned upon for being the last cell phone provider to get the RAZR, VZW is now the first to get the new KRZR. This new RAZR-like phone features a 1.3MP camera, Mp3/Mp4 playback (plus V Cast Music/Video), MicroSD expansion slot, Bluetooth, and Verizon’s V Cast services. The KRZR has now has many of the features that the RAZR lacked, which include external music controls (touch sensitive), a more robust battery life, and a slightly larger internal storage capacity.
Anyways if you wish to get one it is available online now for $199 with a new 2-year contract and $99 for existing customers who are eligible for upgrade. (Note: Won’t be in stores until October 5th) Although we havn’t had a hands-on-review yet, by the looks of it, it seems as though it will be a pretty good phone, despite the fact that it is a bit pricy. Also Skatter Tech will be getting a KRZR by Monday (10/02/06), so check back and expect an in depth review with plenty of pictures soon!

Is it possible to transfer MP3 ringtones to the KRZR K1m via a Micro SD card, i.e. transferring the MP3s from a PC to the Micro SD using a card reader, and then installing the Micro SD card in the phone?
Hello everyone. I was wondering if the Motorola OEM SYN1301B headset (I believe this headset came w/ the Music Essential Package) is compatible with Verizon’s Motorola Krzr K1m because some people say it is compatible and some say it isn’t (JJ on Nov 30, above post, says his Moto OEM headset didn’t work). Also if it is compatible does the headset have a high volume level and good quality playback. Any feedback from anyone that has this headset would be great.
My computer isn’t recognizing my phone. what do i do?
What is seem edit and waht does it do?…Thanks
Hello, I just purchased a Krzr and a 1G SanDisk card. I have about 130 songs downloaded but when I try to play them it locks my phone up? A friend of mine has a Krzr and my card locks his phone up also? A co-worker of mine has a Chocolate phone and he tried my card in his phone and it worked fine and played the songs. I have a card reader and was going to erase the card but it says that its “write protected” What can I do to get the card to work on my phone or how can I erase the card? Thanks
Can anyone tell me how to disable the screensaver on the K1M? Verizon, in their youthful innocence, has utterly crippled this phone with their ridiculously useless software version. Thanks in advance.
I have a question, when i click on my sounds on my Krzr it just freezes on me any body has any ideas. Am sure my my songs are downloaded on their fine But it just freezes.PLEASE HELP ME!!
So, i’m having issues assigning different ringtones to individual contacts, and ive tried everything like grouping contacts and i even removed a default and individually assigned ringtones to all the contacts, but all that happened was no ringtone at all. ANybody else have this problem? Some help?

You have to disable the vibrate option or the individual ringtones won’t work, it will just use the default.
okay so at the store i was told that you could record a sound, (like a song or something like that) and set it as my ringtone
but when i record something there are no options for this
if you could please help me with this problem because I can’t buy any
Edit: sorry but i was wondering if their is a way to change the front screen to look differednt because it looks like a piece of crap
i have seen this question asked but i havnt seen an awnser. i had my friend send me a ringtone then once i get it i try to save it as a ringtone but it only has the option to save sound. i was told it needed to be in a picture message but i couldnt get that to work either. could someone explain me the steps on how to set a sound as a ringtone. PLEASE HELP
need some help here, I successfully got all my music onto my Krzr, and managed to email my phone a song under 20 seconds to use as a ringtone, and i saved it as a sound. It’s under my sounds, but there is no option to set it as a ringtone, what do i do?
Simple question.. How do I format the card? Thanks.

Just place the card in the phone. Turn it OFF and then back ON.
It should then have created the my_music/flix/pix folders.
This is quite a useful thread. Thanks in advance to all the helpful people. I have a KRZR and I’m trying to transfer some mp3s and pictures to my my memory card using bluetooth (via bluesoleil). I can transfer things fine to the phone’s internal memory, but for some reason it won’t let me add or change files on the memory card. Is this normal? Or is there any way to change this? Thanks.
I got a krazr and when i take the sim card out the names of the music artists and albums are still on the phone but the music isnt there. I figured out how to earase the albums but I want to erase the names but don’t know how to and it’s really bothering me. how can you??
Well i got the KRZR a week ago, im very well working with usb and all that phone stuff. I just want to know if you can upload music to the phone without a SD card?
how do i put videos on my v-cast razr?
I’m having the same problem 2 others mentioned. I can load a bunch of songs onto my 2gb microSD card using a card reader, but only the 1st of them alphabetically appears in the mp3 player on the phone. i’ve tried putting the songs in directories individually or putting them all in 1 directory (from other posts, I now understand that up to 50 songs can go in one directory). nothing seems to work.
I noticed one of the 2 other people that posted with this problem said they were using a mac. I also used a mac. Perhaps it’s something the Mac OS does that causes the problem?
Has anyone with a Mac been able to get more than 1 mp3 file to play?
Does anyone have a fix?
I have the KRZR K1M, but the USCellular version. My issue is that I have removed ringtones via Motorola Phone Tools, but it is still listed in the phone itself, but no sound is attached (I am assuming it didn’t clean the entry in the database). Any ideas how to get that removed?
I am trying to set MP3s as my ringtones..so far, I cut the MP3 to less than 20 seconds and have it in 96 bitrate..and I emailed it to my number like JJ said. However, I can’t access my email? Was I supposed to get a notification for receipt of a new email? I tried to go online (on the phone) and access my account (which prompted me to set it up) but then it just diverted me to a screen which told me to call customer service. Did anyone else have this problem or do you have to be signed up with verizon to have an email account?
[Comment ID #24487 Will Be Quoted Here]Sounds like you have a verizon phone. If tahts the case, you cant do ANYTHING with these phone because Verizon stripped the programming & features. Everytime I call & complain & write letters, they tell me they never got any reports. I think we all need to write to Verizon & tell them we want the phones we BOUGHT,with the features we PAID FOR,not what they want to give us….
ONE PISSED OFF VERIZON CUSTOMER….
[Comment ID #26266 Will Be Quoted Here]You have Verizon, you cant do a thing with your phone. I suggest you and everybody else that has a KRZR K1M through Verizon call & complain & write letters telling them we want the phones & features we PAID FOR!!!!
@Justin
I understand your complain and I too agree that the crippled features should be enabled. However they are making the phones available at cheaper prices and charging for other features to make money. Not to be supporting just Verizon in any way, but just to let you know I have reviewed phones from Sprint and At&t/Cingular; they all have crippled these features as well! The only way to get ringtones on the phone (without hacks) is to purchase them. Also just to let you know even the iPhone, which is made for music playback, will not allow users to use their own songs as rigntones.
[Comment ID #26274 Will Be Quoted Here]Really?? So features like being able to play my music without opening the phone & going through at least 3-4 menus, being able to set the time limit for my screensavers,or being able to use songs & sounds as ringtones are all things I should NOT have right?? You go spend $3-400 on a brand new multimedia phone that you chose for certain specific features, only to have it activated and find those features stripped and tell me how happy you are…
Good Day Sir
