Looking for a new phone? Well the brand new Motorola KRZR K1m is now available through Verizon Wireless. After being frowned upon for being the last cell phone provider to get the RAZR, VZW is now the first to get the new KRZR. This new RAZR-like phone features a 1.3MP camera, Mp3/Mp4 playback (plus V Cast Music/Video), MicroSD expansion slot, Bluetooth, and Verizon’s V Cast services. The KRZR has now has many of the features that the RAZR lacked, which include external music controls (touch sensitive), a more robust battery life, and a slightly larger internal storage capacity.
Anyways if you wish to get one it is available online now for $199 with a new 2-year contract and $99 for existing customers who are eligible for upgrade. (Note: Won’t be in stores until October 5th) Although we havn’t had a hands-on-review yet, by the looks of it, it seems as though it will be a pretty good phone, despite the fact that it is a bit pricy. Also Skatter Tech will be getting a KRZR by Monday (10/02/06), so check back and expect an in depth review with plenty of pictures soon!

yo justin if u r payin 300-400 for ur phones uv been ripped off. i hve nvr paid more tan $100-150. only phones that cost that much from the verizon are da pda smarphones. i had the verizon for over 4yrs now and the menu lockup stuff always a problem. but it is still better tan most othrs like sprint and cingular. my sis got a krzr from sprint and she hated it, cuz she couldn’t do notin with it. everyone’s got the same problems, she ended up on verizeon in hte end cuz it had better signal in the area.

When you e-mail the file to your phone, it should come through as a text message. Make sure you are sending it to (your number no dashes)@vzwpix.com. I tried 4 different e-mail accounts and the only one that would work for me was hotmail.
I add ringtones from mp3 very easily.
Make sure that you email them to your phone. 1234567890@vzwpix.com Make sure that you register on line at vzwpix.com also. I have added about 5 or 6 ringtones this way. Just make sure they are less than 45secs.
[Comment ID #26293 Will Be Quoted Here]Actually you can do something about…you write to or call verizon & tell them you want ALL OF THE FEATURES WE PAID FOR,NOT THE ONES THEY FEEL LIKE GIVING US!!!
I’ve read most of the posts regarding adding a ringtone to the Verizon K1m Krazor and it still didn’t work for me. I sent the 20 second mp3 to my vzwpix account, then saved it onto my phone. BUT it didn’t automatically save it into ‘My Ringtones’, it was saved into ‘My Sounds’. I can play it, but cannot default my ringtone to it. Did I do something wrong? Can anyone help? Thanks!
I bought a usb cable for my krazr k1m and it ddidnt come with any cd and i wanted to download my pictures onto my pc (windows xp) so i downloaded a driver for it and i cant seem to work it out so could someone help me out? thanx in advance
Is there anyway to get the 2 gig micro sd to fully work without buying a music essentials kit? My phone isn’t even recognizing the 2 gig when i put it in and i also inputted the directory. I tried just dragging it in but is there a way? Even with the kit? Or is updating firmware good enough?
Thanks in advance
The best way to get ringers on your KRAZR phone is to use this site: http://www.mobile17.com
I can email them to my self but that does not always work.
I have a question. I send my friend some ringtones (MP3) through bluetooth but i have no idea where the ringtones have been downloaded onto…. can anybody get me some help???
My krzr froze today when I tried to access my MP3 player under Media Gallery. It would just go into the load mode and the phone would restart every time I tried to access MP3. This happened after I purchased a 1 Gig micro SD card, formatted it, downloaded music from My MUsic files on my computer using a USB adapter. Everything worked fine till today when I encountered the problem described by Jason. Here are the steps I used to get it working again. 1. remove your SD card 2. You should now be able to access MP3 menu without the card under Media Gallery as before. 3. Under My music menu press Options. 4. Make sure that Under Options, Search? has Ask beside it. If it doesn’t, it won’t ask and keep searching and restarting your phone always. I hope this works to solve your problem.
my pc won’t recognize my k1m krzr. i got it to work about 2 weeks ago and downloaded 3 songs (all my memory would hold) i bought a 1 gb memory card and installed it now i can’t get my phone to connect to my pc. i did not buy the music essentials kit with cd i’m too cheap. i downloaded all the patches and zip files but still won’t work. help!!!
im confused, verizon told me that it is impossible to send sounds to ur motokrazr and make them ringtones. i emailed some songs to myself and they show up in mysounds but is there really no way to make them ringtones?
the email method works for me…but recently its been inconsistent with where it saves but generally if you email it by attachment and it sounds like an mp3 not a recording on the phone, it should save to my ring tones and end up with a yellow lock next to it
I would like to see the music on my phone organized by playlists but have not figured out how to make that happen. I use the music essentials. When I go to “My Music” on the phone it lists all the songs. I can press the upper left to go to “Playlist” but when I do the only playlist there is V CAST Music. When I moved the album I moved it as the playlist. I must be doning something wrong. Help! thanks.
Another question. Is there a way to push the music into background to free up the phone to do other functions.. like check the time and look at the contact list, etc? Guessing that is too much to ask for this type of phone– but maybe not ? thanks.
hey did anyone figure out if there was a way to put mp3 ringtones on the phone a hack or patch or anything. i just got it and i read through the post but i am not really sure. if someone could help me out here that would be great
Ok, Aaron B. (12/17/2006) Thanks so much for the info about the assigning ringtones to different contacts. It was really starting to frustrate me! I’m also puzzled as to why you can’t have the vibrate on. Makes absolutely no sense to me either! But thanks again!
How do I get my KRZR to play through my car stereo? I’ve got a Kenwood KDC-MP532U head unit with USB connector, and I attempted to simply hook my KRZR to the HU via the USB cable, and I got “No Device Connected” on my stereo, and “Unauthorized charger” on my phone.
What am I doing wrong?
re: 5-11-07. I finally got my pc to recognize my krzr k1m after searching through some of the previous posts. I probably couldn’t tell anyone how I did it (just dumb I guess) but thanks to the forum I can download song to my phone. Great Job Guys!
how can i record like a tone and then set it as a ringtone? Help me i need step by step instructions. thank you
My Motokrzr has a blue screen and says “BOOTLOADER USB INIT”. It won’t turn off, on or do anything. What do I do?
Find myself (like lots of others…) VERY frustrated with this phone! It may be slick and sexy but after just 4 days I am ready to roll back over to my rock solid – WONDERFUL v710! Thought I had a bum phone when I realized I couldn’t save a ringtone with a contact – called Moto and was told they were working on a software fix but had no ETA of when it would be done – this phone is out for more then a year! Also do not love the menu layout – the print is small on the screen – that damn missed call beep will wake the dead – the ringer choices suck…. the list goes on – and I haven’t even tried to make it work as a modem for my laptop – I shutter to think what chaos that will cause! Thanks for this forum – because if I keep it – I figure it will become my number one place to visit online!
Yeah, it’s a cool phone, but I think it’s a rip off, quite frankly – if I had it to do over again, I would not have bought this phone. It’s not an MP3 Player, it only plays songs that were purchased on-line – they all require a license to play. So, all my songs on my 100+ CD library, that play perfectly on my computer, will not play on this KRZR. I’d have to buy all the same CDs over again on-line to get the license. Is there any way around this? I can’t tell you how frustrated I’ve been trying to get this to work. It’s a gimmick to get you to spend more money on more songs. I don’t play like that.
I love it. I have loaded songs from my PC on it and it works great. I recommend a headset that allows you to answer calls too.
What I have found to work is to get the Motorola tools and make sure it is completely updated. Then load in the Verizon Media tools (comes with the Music Essentials Kit) Get a MicroSD card. Then load in songs. I have had great success this way. Hope this helps others.
TO: dcjfs, download songs from limewire.com and export them to media player then to your phone. This is done after getting your pc to recognize your phone through a usb cable hook-up. I did this but it took a lot of help from this web site. GOOD LUCK!
