Yesterday LG Electronics announced the availability of their new phone titled “Rumor” for Sprint customers. The LG Rumor sports a full QWERTY keyboard, email access, and instant messaging services (AIM, MSN, & Yahoo!). The phone also boasts access to social news websites such as Facebook. The unit is available in white with silver or black with blue.
“We are excited to introduce Rumor by LG because it is great-looking, easy-to-use and very affordable,” said Danny Bowman, Sprint VP of Product Development
The LG Rumor will also support Sprint’s new messaging services which allows sending texts to landlines phones. (recipient hears the text in audio) Other neat features include a built-in fully functioning GPS navigation system with on screen turn-by-turn directions. As for now standard features it includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD (4GB), MP3 player, and access to Sprint’s music store.
The Rumor by LG will be available later this month for $79.99 after a 2-year-contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. It’s going to be interesting to see how this stands up to LG’s enV which we reviewed last year. LG is also releasing an iPhone competitor, the Voyager, which is being launched on Verizon’s network and will be easily over double the price of the Rumor. We’ll try to get a hold of one of these so check back!

I have the white phone and i love it. I just wish the screen was a little bit bigger, and that you cant send pictures that are sent to you but other than that its a great phone. yea and it has a IM, e-mail, and Facebook setting when you go to messaging. So COOL!
im in canada does anyone know where you can get the green one? also when ur texting does it have smiley’s like emoticons??? or just plain :) :( like that?? also im a huge texter and i want this phone SO BAD!!!!!!!!! im hopeing my dadwill buy it for me!!

I just got the black/blue one. it’s amazing, i love the fact that you can remove the little memory card, it’s the perfect phone. i love it.
I am getting this phone because I couldnt get the instinct because they are making me switch my pan in order to do it but so far I lovc it and there arent any glitches as people say.

My friend got this phone a couple of months ago and he had been bragging about how great it was. He never had any issues or glitches. However just a month or so ago he slid the phone open and the screen just died all of a sudden. No physical damage what-so-ever. I’ll ask him to post his story.

To take the cheese noise off, go to your camera and go to options, then go to sound and go to OFF. and as for the sliding sound, go to settings, sound, slide sound and then OFF.

I am really anxious 2 get that phone!! But my dad wont let me have it until x-mas and im really mad @ him 4 that! My old phone is this ugly pink piece of trash right now its not even phone. the screen turned black, blue, and white and i cant text or call any body cuz i cant see what im doing! is this a good phone or not cuz i dont want a phone that is crappy! :)
